Have you felt overwhelmed by these uncertain times? Are you ready to be encouraged by what IS truly certain?
“In a world of created changeable things, Christ and His Word alone remain unshaken.”
~ Valley of Vision
If you are saved—having accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord and Saviour—then you can be certain you belong to God.
Belonging to HIM means we are secure no matter our circumstances. God gives us the natural survival instinct and our flesh is quick to flinch at perceived dangers. How, then, do we now live under the siege of COVID-19 uncertainty?
We have to base our security on Whose we are! We can encourage ourselves in Christ, knowing what IS certain:
We can be certain of our inheritance!
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: (Colossians 1:12-15)
We can be certain of our Creator’s Sovereignty!
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. (Colossians 1:16-17)
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
We can be certain that ALL power belongs to HIM!
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (Matthew 28:18)
We can be certain we are loved by HIM beyond measure!
The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. (Jeremiah 31:3)
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work. (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17)
We can be certain HIS Grace is always sufficient for us!
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. (John 1:16-17)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
We can be certain HE will never leave nor forsake us!
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5)
We can be certain of HIS Words!
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6)
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63)
We can be certain of HIS Counsel!
The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. (Psalm 33:11)
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. (Proverbs 8:14)
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (1 Corinthians 2:5)
We can be certain of HIS Protection!
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (Psalm 91:11)
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. (Psalm 56:3)
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
We can be certain we are on the winning side!
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
We can be certain Christ is coming back!
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:2-3)
As we navigate through this season of life, I pray we can all find our security, comfort and strength in knowing that Christ and His Words ARE certain.
Thank you for taking time to read this post, I hope you've been encouraged!
