And what is imagination?
It’s letting our heart play
and be free without boundaries.
The sky is the limit—
With trails of ink...
If I could not worry, trust I’m loved in spite of my failings, stop condemning myself and just be totally free for a few minutes…
Where would I go?
I’d be walking in sunlit woods, feeling a soft warm breeze blowing through my hair. I’d have my camera of course. And maybe a backpack with pen and paper to write. And a mug of chai tea with salted caramel and a shot of expresso. : )
I’d sit down beside a stream
and thank God
for redeeming my life!
Listening as the music of the trickling, then flowing water fills my senses with peace and pure freshness...
I’d pick up my pen and begin writing:
Life is a precious gift. I’m so thankful for my God and Father and His never-ending love, mercy and grace. I once read someone call the daily circumstances of life: “Details.”
Details do affect us,
but as
born-again believers
we have a Rock
we stand upon
at all times.
We are anchored and secure by faith in Christ.
He is our Life. He is our Strength. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. No man can pluck us out of His hand.
Our life is hid with Christ in God.
Even the “details” of life are under God’s control. Nothing happens unless He allows it. It’s a scary thought to think of all the bad things that could happen and I hope my faith stays strong. I trust it will. I pray it will.
As I imagine sitting here beside a stream, breathing in all the freshness with sunlight streaming through the trees and the gentle breeze…
I praise my God and Father for the gift of now. I love that quote by Emily Dickinson:
“Forever is
composed of
nows.”
I’m thankful for the ability God gives us to imagine, like I’m doing right now. Imagining a beautiful moment and writing about it.
Thinking of my grandchildren:
Millie and Barr,
Isaiah, Brayden,
Gracelyn, Faith,
Hope and Logan...
They have that beautiful innocence, child eyes and spirits. It’s so good being with them in “their world.”
Maybe part of growing older is a growing appreciation for innocence and fresh eyes, playful hearts, and free spirits!
Thank you for taking time to read this post. I hope it has inspired you to take time to live in the moment and see it as a precious gift from your Father.
